About Us...
Information about the American Association of Riding Schools

The Best Place to Start...

The American Association of Riding Schools (A.A.R.S.) offers the most comprehensive, enjoyable, and affordable riding program in the nation.  Our member farms are privately owned stables specializing in novice youth and adult riders.

If you are an adult who has always liked horses, but never had the opportunity to work with them, our horse farms cater to adults just like you.  You can soon be riding and enjoying horses on a regular basis.

If your child is crazy about horses, but you fear it's a hobby that just can't fit your family, our horse farms can be your child's dream come true.   Our member programs offer a complete and well supervised riding and horse care program that is coordinated with a national Equitation Proficiency Ribbon and Horsemastership Certificate program.

A Great Place to Stay...

Lessons consist of basic English and Western riding styles.  Riders learn safety when handling horses, grooming, saddling and bridling, and working with the horse from the ground during exercise and training sessions.  Students also learn about the many fun activities available to horse enthusiasts across the nation.  As our riders enjoy our programs, they learn what is necessary to choose, care for, and enjoy a horse of their own.

Some of our riders eventually purchase a horse to keep at their home or at a large facility with room for boarders, and possibly an in-house trainer. But, our member farms also offer a special program for those people who want all the advantages of a horse of their own without the commitments of time, money, and physical labor that comes with horse ownership.

Whether you are enticed by the dazzle of the show ring or the call of the open trails, an A.A.R.S. lesson program can head you in the right direction.  You may thrill to the high step of an English pleasure performance, swell to the rise of a stadium jump, impress yourself with a dressage movement, or lean toward the speed turn of a barrel race, or, you may just want to groom your horse, then amble down a country road.  Instructors at A.A.R.S. member schools are versed in a variety of riding styles and will encourage you to dabble in each.
